Charity doesn't always have to be behind closed doors. The desire to help others is a noble feeling and when it's a celebrity who is extending a helping hand; it draws huge attention from millions around the world. Few days ago, Hollywood sensation Lindsay Lohan visited Kolkata to shoot a BBC documentary on child trafficking. Reports say LiLo was moved to tears when she listened to the plight of a 12-year-old girl at a shelter home who had been rescued by the police . LiLo even expressed her desire to remain in touch with the girl. Being born to a Hollywood family, Angie never witnessed real poverty until she came to Cambodia for the shooting of 'Lara Croft'. What she witnessed there transformed her life itself. She always finds time for charity despite her busy schedule. Together with Brad Pitt, she has donated millions for charity. Unlike many celebs, she is actively participates in field work, taking it to a more political level. Jolie has also adopted three little kids from impoverished countries, providing them a new hope and life.

She was named 'Ambassador against Hunger' for the United Nations World Food Programme for which she had donated $1 million. She was even associated with 'Soles4Souls', an international shoe charity dedicated to providing a free pair of shoes to people in need. He and his father travelled to Darfur and filmed a documentary, "A Journey to Darfur", highlighting the plight of the people there. For his humanitarian activities, he was awarded Summit Peace Award by the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates. Though he wasn't able to eliminate the crisis of Darfur, his efforts have indeed helped a lot to ease the situation there.

He was nominated for Nobel Peace prize three times.

Salman has been actively involved with Make-A-Wish Foundation which deals with terminally ill children.
