FLOWER CARPET ON THE GRAND PLACE - Brussels
A million begonias for... one single carpet? This is certainly an extraordinary achievement. The famous Carpet of Flowers covers 300 m² right in the centre of the Grand Place. This year, it's a traditional carpet: end of the . With a different design each time, it is the work of flower growers from Ghent, the great specialists in growing begonias. These flowers offer a wide range of vivid and glowing colours and easily resist the burning sun. The coloured plant tapestry can be admired best from the balcony of the City Hall, which is open to the public for the occasion.
